Don't worry if your child puts her musical instrument in her mouth. At this young age, a child's exlploration often involves chewing musical instruments as well as playing them. This is absolutely fine. In the very early stages of development, young children explore by putting things in their mouths.
Try This: Hand out simple percussion instruments such as bells, shakers, or maracas. Recite the rhyme once and then ask everyone to say it with you while making music with their instruments and keeping time to the steady beat of the rhyme.
Peas porridge hot.
Peas porridge cold.
Peas porridge in the pot,
Nine days old.
Some like it hot.
Some like it cold.
Some like it in the pot,
Nine days old.
